#JIDAR : Morocco's Capital Turned Into A Masterpiece

Morocco's capital city has been touched and RE-touched by some of the biggest names in the art industry. The boulevards and residential areas are now full of masterpieces dedicated to Rabat as both an honor to the city and a call-out to Moroccan artists.

A new concept is now a trending topic in the kingdom of Morocco as it's capital city - Rabat - welcomed dozens of artists with different skills and ways to execute their vision. The city's walls has been turned from "basic" to "monumental decorations".
The Capital is now THE destination of passionate tourists who can't help themselves from heading up to a new dimension with the contemporary style of the city and the modern flair brought by the mural paintings and graffiti.
The work is shared by Moroccan and international mural painters as some of the exhibited paintings as pure honor to Moroccan personalities including one of the most appreciated works which is a tribute to the Moroccan deceased-actor "Mohamed El Bestaoui" that you can find next to Rabat's coach station in "Qamra".

One of the major names who has headed to Rabat for this ambitious project was the 'Zepha' calligrapher : Vincent Abade Hafez, more known as a street painter whose work has been featured in numerous cities around the world.

Our team has interviewed so many people in Rabat's streets asking them what they think about The JIDAR Festival, and the answers were different as some of them said that it was an incredible way to mask the dirt of the walls, but others (including 3 abroad tourists) said that it was a self-expression for wall painters to exhibit their feelings and thoughts about Rabat's spiritual soul. They added that this project is a one-of-a-kind concept that will bring Moroccan and international artists together, and invite passionate youngsters to this artistic movement.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who made sure that this festival will be a starting line for a rebirth of the Moroccan artistic culture, and intrigue Moroccans to look up for art and re-give it the consideration it worths.

Even MIKA Can't Stop Himself From Yann'sine Jebli's Voice | The Voice France 4

Yann'sine Jebli is a 20 y.o. Moroccan singer from Tan Tan City who has started singing since a very early age. As he claims, the real beginning of his artistic career was when his father offered him a phone, at the age of 17, which contained a Moroccan song titled "Bared ou Skhoun" that was the catalyst of his talent.
The public began to be familiar with Yann'sine as he appeared on the Singing TV Show "Studio 2M" in which he ended up being a finalist in 2013. Two years later, the young singer came back even stronger facing the INTERNATIONAL public in the French version of the renowned Reality TV Singing Competition "The Voice".
He gave an unforgivable performance of Indila's hit single "Dernière Danse" at the "Blind Auditions" phase. The performance was so good that all 4 coaches pressed their button and tried to convince Yann'sine to be part of their team, but Yann'sine chose - the "Popular Song" singer - MIKA as his coach.
Mika did whatever it takes to make of Yann'sine a global star, he coached him and advised him. The young singer was put on the "Battle Phase" against the Algerian contestant "Dalia Chih" performing Nina Simone's "Feeling Good", and Mika chose, again, the Moroccan Yann'sine.
The third phase was also a win for the young singer who performed an oriental-mixed version of Jean-Jacques Goldman's "Comme Toi" at the "Knochout Stage" phase against Madeleine and Thomas. Mika had to choose only one from the 3 performers, and yet again, he chose Yann'sine.
When the 2 last phases were airing on TV, Yann'sine was back to Morocco where he was well-welcomed by his fans, friends, family and the Moroccan media including Newspapers, Radio Stations, … He has also made a fun-filled lip sync cover (Click HERE for the video)

The young singer returned to France for the next phase, "Live Shows" where the public votes for their favorite contestant.
This phase was the one where performers get really stressed, but Yann'sine knew how to handle the situation, and gave the most talked-about performance to which he added an oriental flair. He sang Michel Sardou's "Je Vole" in a very unique way where he imposed his Moroccan origins. The young talented singer passed on a message through his performance, knowing that he has left his parents in Morocco to make his singing dream come true.

"It was touching to see him telling his story and putting his musical culture in it, it was mastered and sincere"

said MIKA about Yann'sine's performance.

At the end, Mika had to chose between Sharon Laloum or Yann'Sine, you already know who he has chosen, of course Yann'sine.

When ART Meets Casablanca's Billboards | Billboard Festival Casablanca 2015

Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, is celebrating from the 1st to the 15th of April 2015 the Billboard Festival which occupies 63 billboards in the "non-sleeping" city. The billboards caught the attention of so many people from different ages and cultures.
The 15 days period will be a pure honor for the Moroccan cultureMoroccan photographers AND Nordic contemporary women artists. The exhibited "Master-Peaces" will for sure bring a certain spirit to the city and will distress the active population of Casablanca by making'em focus more on the content of the billboards which will change the commercial basic billboards to what we have been used to (especially in the commercial capital of Morocco).
The Billboard Festival is more of a challenge targeting to change our view about the urban space, stereotypes about identity and most important about women, who are given the opportunity in the festival to make their voices heard and express their inner artist in order to make the city a better environment for creativity.
The festival-project is the approach of the Copenhagen based visual artist Hanne Lise Thomsen known for her projects in public spaces including The Billboard project Women2003 in Copenhagen.
Last but not least, the Billboard Festival Casablanca 2015 is a brand new Nordic-Arabic project looking forward to promoting Moroccan and Scandinavian Women artists on the most crowded streets of Casablanca to show the world a "friendship" between Moroccan and Scandinavia quoted "The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship".
An event is going to take place in Casablanca following the festival with artist talks, video projections, performances and panel debates.
